New Rock n Roll bingo game

A Yorkshireman has invented a new take on the normal game of bingo. 31 year-old mark Walsh from Leeds has patented Rock n Roll Bingo. The new game differs from conventional bingo as song titles and artists are used on bingo cards instead of numbers. Also instead of a bingo caller calling out the numbers, parts of songs are played and if the song matches one of the songs on their bingo card then they need to mark it off. Like 90-Ball Bingo there are 90 song titles and artists on the player’s bingo card in Rock N Roll bingo.
The game Mark has invented has caught the attention of Mecca Bingo who have decided to bring the game to a Mecca Bingo Hall in Nottingham. The first game will take place next month and if popular then the game could be played at other bingo halls up and down the country.
Mark is keen on pub quizzes and music. His family are big bingo fans, so he came up with the idea of combining all three with Rock N Roll bingo.
Mark persuaded his local JD Sports Bar to host the game and it proved so popular that it now takes place there every Thursday evening. He also took the game to universities across the country and it has been played by over 50,000 people nationwide. He also plans to bring the game to other pubs in his hometown of Leeds and even possibly bringing out a game that can be played at home together with an online version and maybe a TV version.
Mark told the Yorkshire Evening Post, “We thought we had something and we thought it would take off but now we’re just over the moon. We just started playing it in a few places and it just went through the roof.”
